Poetry Contest (All submissions are considered for publication even if not selected as the winner.)
- Please submit up to 3 pieces.
- Poems should be submitted in a single file.
- Submissions should be previously unpublished work.
- PDF or docx. files, please.
Prize: Contest winners are announced within a week of the contest ending. Winner will receive a $100 prize, publication in the April '25 issue, and a free author copy of the magazine.
Ink Nest Poetry focuses on a personal connection between the reader and authors. Each author selected will have a 2 page spread for 2 poems or one longer piece. (Fiction pieces may receive more space.) Each author will have a short bio section, their photo, and a song recommendation for the readers published alongside their work. Please include a song choice that represents you or your writing voice! Selected authors/artists receive a $20 publication payment and one free author copy of the magazine.
- Submissions are always free, however, we do offer paid submission options for a quick response or quick response with editorial feedback.
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed but please wait to hear from us before submitting again. Double submissions will not be read.
- Ink Nest does not accept previously published work.
- Flash Fiction/Fiction/interviews/reviews - Submit one or two pieces Under 3,000 words.
- Poems - No more than six.
- Art - No more than four - Keep in mind the magazine prints on easy-to-read cream-colored paper - Artwork will print in black and white.
- Ink Nest features a Spotify code for readers to listen to a personally curated playlist by the authors! Please include a song that represents your work or a personal favorite.

- If you have already been published in a previous issue of Ink Nest, please wait one calendar year before submitting again.
A complete writing workshop allows for the submission of up to three poems or one piece of short fiction with a maximum word count of 3,000 words. This same word count limit applies to interviews and reviews. For each submitted piece, you will receive a minimum of 4 to 5 lines of constructive feedback (often more) along with reading recommendations.
